Can I get a Visa on Arrival if I fly with Lao Airlines?

Hello, I will travel to Luang Prabang from Chiang Mai with Lao Airlines soon. I would like to obtain my visa on arrival in Luang Prabang, but I recently discovered that Lao Airlines will check visas just before the departure. Is it possible that I will not able to board my flight without a visa? I've written to Lao Airlines, but still no answer.

Hi Francesco,

Your discover kind of puzzles me, I never heard or witness that the airlines check passengers' visa before departure (I travel a bit myself). I'm not saying your information is wrong, it maybe right, there are many things that I don't know about.

Anyway, to my knowledge, you can get Lao visa on arrival regardless of which airlines you travel with as long as your country of resident is not in the list of not-eligible countries, here .

In a matter of facts, even if you're from those countries in the list mentioned above and not hold a visa, you'll still be able to board the flight, but once at Lao airport, the immigration won't let you in (and will send you back).
