Lao visa required to board flight into Vientiane?

When I fly on Bangkok Airways from Bangkok to Vientiane, will I need a Lao visa in order to board the plane?


That's what an agent tells me, but all other travel information says you can get a Lao visa after you arrive at VTE.

Hello,

No, you don't have to have Lao visa before you can board a plane to Laos provided that you are eligible to getting Lao visa on arrival.

Lao visa is available upon your arrival at the airports in Laos. However, citizen of some countries are not eligible for that. That means they have to get a visa before boarding the plane to Laos. In this case the agent is right.
